...In the form of Zooey Deschanel (whom I love already because the girl has Chanel in her name, ergo, is instantly upped in the coolness factors) in "500 Days of Summer" which the boy and I watched on wednesday, and is sincerely, a brilliant, funny and inspiring film, which I thought was just lovely throughout. And ZD's mixed era-reference dressing (bit of 40's/bit of 50's/bit of 60's/bit of 00's) was simply sublime also. It made me appreciate the impact of simplistic dressing...sometimes, a cotton sundress is, actually, all you need.
On the theme of film style, we also watched "Teenwolf" last night (feat. none other than MJ Fox in his prime) and hence, the 80's are back with a vengeance. Maybe that accounts for todays purchase?! I also have a slight inclanation to buy a pompom jumper and some high waisted slacks, but perhaps I'll put those cravings to the side for a moment.
Looking forward: I'm going to have to get my goth on for "New Moon" which me and the boy are stupidly excited about, and as dark lippy seems to be in vogue for AW09/10, it really couldn't have come at a better time. As for Halloween, well, that just throws up a whole new level of theme dressing. I'm wondering if Madonna in "Desperately Seeking Susan" is a suitable role model...truly, wearing the worst of the 80's is surely a scary enough costume by anyone's standards.
