Do you ever find that you have an online shopping 'comfort zone?' I know I certainly do, there are about 4 companies I religiously buy from and always head straight to their sites for the latest drops and to see what picks they have on their websites. I don't know why I do this; maybe convenience or trust or just knowing I can get what I like from those particular stores, but here's the thing: You can get stuck in a rut. Which was why I thought I'd scope out a couple of other sites when I was thinking about what to wear on possibly the most banging (!) night of the year: Bonfire Night!
I had heard of USC, a store stocking urban and edgy street lables, but I didn't realise that they had an online boutique too (but they do, which you can visit by clicking here)
And ooh, what treats were in store when I visited! (no tricks-Halloween's over for another year!) I was a little worried that all I would find on the site would be reams of hoodies and baggy jeans, but, silly me, it seems that urban streetwear has come a long way since it's conception and has definitely matured in style since it's early to mid 90's combats and slouchy knits heyday. For example, who would have thought I'd find this?
French Connection Frill Coat-Online Exclusive to USC-£160
Because of course, that is the first thing you will need when considering an outing, especially in this weather! This coat hits the perfect mark between dressy and casual-the frills lend it a girly edge whilst the mushroomy colour keeps it from looking twee. Love!
Firetrap Heat Cardigan-£85
Chunky knits are also a must have, espeically if you will be braving the elements. The lovely oatmeal colour of this one makes it a layering essential-it would look cute with loose fit jeans and boots or edgy with skinny leather leggings and mid heel pumps for a slicker bonfire party look.
Firetrap Trapped Hat-£20
Naturally, if you only buy one thing to 'head' outdoors in, it has to be a hat. A slouchy beanie not only looks adorable, but also a) keeps your ears warm and b) keeps the elements from having a disco with your 'do. A must have!
Miss Sixty Honoria Leggings-£40
I was so pleased when I found these leggings by urban street label Miss Sixty. This Italian brand has always had a decent presence on the high street, made even more covetable of late due to their simple pieces that are right on trend. These slick looking leggings are no exception and will ensure that you shine at any party!
G Star Mono Cardi-£147
I am so in love with chunky knits at the moment-is there nothing they can't do?! I mean, take this cardigan-worn with the sleek leggings above, it transforms from chunky knit to sassy coverup in an instant. Yum.
G Star Mono Poncho-£136
This capey poncho ticks all the right boxes for winter...sleek, a little bit gothic, trendy to a fault and still affordable. This will be a style saviour over the next few months-you can wear it with everything you own, and you will.
Ugg Boxed Sheepskin Mittens-£85
I love a bit of indulgence, and these UGG mittens have that in spades. They are so cute and are a must have for anyone planning to hold a sparkler this Friday!
Yumi Fluffy Jacket-£50
Speaking of which, how yummy (sorry!) is this Yumi jacket?! Another piece that will not only keep you warm now, but will take you through the sason with aplomb. Imagine the impact of this over a pair of slouchy jeans with a little sweater underneath-equally as high as if you chuck it over your cocktail dress for New Year's Eve. And only £50! What a steal!
Firetrap Evo Loose Jeans-£60
Everyone who follows my blog knows, I love a harem pant. So when I came across these gorgeous Firetrap Harem style (drop crotch) jeans, it felt like Christmas had come early! They are the perfect shade of blue that will make them a perrenial all rounder in your wardrobe and the edgy fit is a perfect point of difference...wear with heels and the ankles cuffed for a quirky look or tuck into boots for a very urban flavour.
UGG Lynnea Clog Boots-£200
Speaking of which, how gorgeous are these Clog Boots (or 'Cloots', doncha know!) from Ugg. Not only will they keep your tootsies toasty, they are the boot shape of the season without question and the manageable heel means you can actually wear them all day long. What more could you want in a boot?!
Abandon Biker Welly-£25
...well, perhaps the only extra feature you could ask for is that they are wipe clean! And if you're off to an outdoorsy bonfire party where there is an high chance of mud, these are your failsafe option! Stylish wellies (I.e, ones that don't have garish patterns all over them!) are surprisingly hard to find, but this pair prove that the concept of a trendy wellington is not mutually exclusive! And at £25, you really can't afford not to nab them!
All these products are available to buy from USC. They can deliver from as little as £1 and fast delivery costs just £4.50!
Have a super fun, stylish and safe bonfire night, what ever you get up to!
xoxo
