I think I like Weston better in the winter months than the summer. Funnily enough, crowds of pushy tourists don't do it for me, perhaps that stems from summers spent in the gardens and on the beaches of North Devon, with my family and friends. I don't mind a bit of solitude, and actually, when the sun is shining, the wind that blows in from the Bristol Channel doesn't seem to have as much bite. I think I will always feel "at home" near the water, perhaps that's why I like coming here so much. It's not my beloved Westward Ho! but it's a rather charming little place when the season is over and the hatches are being battened down.
The best part about visiting Weston is, of course, seeing my family! I spent the day there yesterday and it was lovely to catch up with them. I wore this Topshop coat that has come out of retirement following it's reception at Bristol Fashion Week; I can't seem to take it off right now! My beret is from H&M and I love the colour, this camel hue is always a favourite of mine around this time of year, and I think this wool one looks so luxe, totally belying it's £3.99 price tag!

Oh Amie! You look so beautiful in your beret, like a 1950s movie star!
There's a new helper in one of our chazzas from Weston-Super-Mare and she says the charity shops there are brilliant. xxx

I love being by the sea. I find it so relaxing and soothing. I also really love these pics. There's something about the greyness that feels so bleak but in a really haunting and gorgeous way.
