Brogues by French Connection at Spartoo

I am a big, BIG fan of brogues and when I saw these beauties on Spartoo I knew that I would have to make a gap in my smart shoe collection. They are made by French Connection, who I'm a fan of anyway-I love the really classic detailing to their clothing and this is reflected in their footwear collection too. These stunning brogues are so individual; from their chalky white colourway, as opposed to the usual black or tan, to the scalloped edges that lend a little bit of girliness to a very masculine shoe shape.

I'm loving the little trend for a cropped trouser at the moment and I know brogues look so nice with that trouser shape. They give a little more coverage than ballet shoes too so are perfect for this transitional weather we're suffering with at the moment. I know that they'll become an integral part of my AW footwear!

I also really love the punch out detailing, which I know is typical of brogues like this but I really think it adds such an edge to your footwear, without making them seem over the top. They will immediately dress up a plain look, but are subtle enough to wear with a "trophy" piece without battling with it for attention.
