This month's Glossybox was a special edition because Glossybox is now 2! I've been subscribing for just over a year now and I remember the first birthday box was quite a good one, you can read my review of it here should you so wish to!
Because I have been a subscriber to Glossybox for more than a year, I not only got the little pack of emery boards in my box as a free gift, but also a tiny bar of Green & Black's chocolate, which I've never tried before, but its chocolate so I am bound to love it!
Also in the box was a Givenchy Mascara, which is really exciting as I always like to try new mazzy although I have to say I'm quite well stocked at the moment because I've been using my Seventeen 'Doll'd Up' which I absolutely love, despite its mixed reviews, and I've also been enjoying Benefit's 'They're Real' which I got free with this month's Elle magazine. I will try and remember to let you know how this one compares!
Next up was Harmony's Moisturising Cream Balm, a product which I've not heard of before but I love things like this because I am just about obsessed with skincare in all forms so anything I haven't tried previously always excites me. I can't wait to try this multi-functioning product on dry patches and blemishes.
A full sized product that I was super excited to receive was the Caudalie Divine Oil, which is a multi-purpose skin and hair oil. I absolutely love oils, which is actually a love developed due to trying them out via my Glossybox; I would never have bought an oil prior to receiving them to test because I associated them with making my skin greasy or shiny. I was even of this opinion the first time I got a skin oil in one of my boxes, I remember disregarding it because I didn't think it was something I'd use, but after trialling it out of curiosity my opinion completely changed. I usually apply face oil before bed before moisturising, and they always make my skin look so fresh in the morning. So I was certainly pleased to find this in the Birthday box!
One other product I am really interested in is the Beautiful Moments Prime & Create Mixing Medium. Previously known as BM Beauty, I used the small finishing powder sample I received a couple of months ago, daily, and it was absolutely amazing. I think the full size of that particular product costs £8 which I don't think is overpriced for a powder, but I am mid-way through another powder palette at the moment so I didn't want to re-buy until I actually needed it. If this mixing medium is as good as the powder was, I'll probably place an order for both! The idea behind this is that you can use it as a primer, or maybe mix it with your foundation to create something with more of a BB cream texture (I adore BB creams so this could be a winner!) or you can mix it with blusher to make cream blush, or eyeshadow to make a more potent colour.
The final item I got in the box this month probably won't be used all that much, lovely though it is! It's a tiny Nails Inc mini polish in a beautiful coral shade, but the reason that I won't be using it is because I am currently smitten with gel nails! You'll remember I had my nails done a while ago....well, the polish lasted over a month and after I had it done for the second time, I knew I couldn't go back to wearing normal nail varnish and dealing with chips! So, I bought myself a Gel nail kit from eBay and I've been doing my own gels since! I'll probably do a post around this if it's something you'd like to read about? It's actually surprisingly easy and the results are amazing so I definitely can't see me going back to regular varnish anytime soon!
All in all, I was really happy with this month's box. So Happy 2nd Birthday, GB, and thanks for all the presents!
XO Amie
EDIT: I've just re-read last year's Birthday Box post, and this year's was definitely better! Also I need to point out that the face mask and false eyelashes are STILL in my bathroom cabinet, unused!
