For the third installment of my 'Holiday Essentials' series, I'm going to be looking at the ideal 'beach to bar' outfit. Maybe you want to go for cocktails straight from the sand or perhaps grab a bite to eat, without feeling too under dressed! Well, here's how.
As always, the key I feel is simplicity and layering. I have picked a few pieces which I would have already thrown in my hand luggage: cute swimsuit, extra sunnies, and a tote which you could actually use as a carry on bag, or simply pack in your larger case. A tote like this is great because it's not overtly 'beachy,' the wicker effect makes it very summery but the leather trim also makes it chic and the neutral colour is perfect for holidays, as this can be used as a day bag for trips out as well as for the seaside. It is a great size too for the beach must-haves, towels, suncream, a book, etc.
The cut out swimsuit gives more coverage than a bikini whilst still remaining really cool to look at, I love the tusk detail and zip on this H&M one. You could always pack a pair of cut off denim shorts to wear over the top of this if you felt that it would be more appropriate for evening!
I think a kimono always adds a really luxe edge to any look and this beautiful Winter Kate one is no exception; perfect as a beach cover up but also suitable to smarten up an evening look.
Finally I've chosen these beautiful sandals by Maloles at Spartoo, they are so pretty whilst being simple enough to wear to the beach, they are so much more than just flat shoes and will make any look really special. I think they're lovely and I would definitely wear this outfit, what do you think?
