Candy Kittens come to Bristol!

On Monday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Candy Kittens pop up shop in Cabot Circus. Regular readers might remember my post around Bella Sorella, Lydia Bright's shop, which also help a pop up in one of the empty units in the shopping centre for a week. This time, though, it was the turn of Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing to promote his fashionable range of candy and clothing.

The Candy Kittens team had worked super hard to transform the plain unit into a confectioners dream. In keeping with the brand's trendy ethos, the white walls were bedecked with the hot pink Candy Kittens logo and sweets were everywhere. Overall the effect was a good reflection of the brand; young, fun, and definitely appealing.

I hadn't realised that Candy Kittens also produced a clothing range but Jamie was keen to talk about how he felt that fashion and sweets went hand in hand, which definitely makes sense to me! He was quick to point out that they were a niche brand in that they definitely took the idea of sweets away from being childish, that you could see candy as being cool, fun, and even sexy. Admittedly in this setting the jars of lollypops and tubs of chews definitely took on a central role; they weren't just there as props but as real tangible elements of the brand that you could happily buy into.

I was also impressed with the quality and variety of products available. You could pick up anything from lollypops, ice lollies and tubs of sweets, to stationary, clothing and jewellery. The product range is highly gift oriented too; the mugs, iPhone cases and cute notebooks all making lovely presents.

Whilst Made in Chelsea has provided a good platform for the company to launch, it is still in its infancy but Jamie's passion for the brand is clear. When I remarked on how exciting and lovely the shop looked, he seemed genuinely grateful for the feedback and was really engaging with the press that had attended the launch, thanking us all for making the effort to come down and happily posing for photos.

With a strong team behind the brand spearheaded by Jamie, you suspect that this is a company that is surely set for great things.

If you would like to attend the pop up shop, it is located in Cabot Circus shopping centre and will be open until Sunday.
