New wardrobe staples including: River Island fedora, Topshop flare jeans, Next check jumper, Next leopard print jumper
I'm not the sort of person who goes out and buys a whole new wardrobe every season; I think even if I did have a bottomless bank account, I would stick to a few new pieces each season rather than going wild in the aisles on loads of new clothes. The thing is, I love clothes too much; I am such a hoarder and I have favourites that I want to wear again and again, so I drag them out each year-I'd do no good to get rid of them and/or replace them, I love them so I keep wearing them. It is nice to have new things to wear, of course, so I do add to the collection, seasonally!
I've bought a few new bits and bobs recently so I am sharing some here. I am totally all about hats at the moment; I can't stop wearing some sort of headgear or another so when I spotted this fedora on the River Island website I knew I'd have to have it. I luckily had a 25% discount voucher with Elle magazine for that month so I got it for around £16.
For a whole £1 less I managed to find a really lovely pair of jeans on the Topshop website. Curiously, these are a denim and wool mix, which makes them warm but also super lightweight, not like denim as you would imagine it. They were reduced from £45 and when I showed Adrian he said, 'oh, those are back in again, are they?!' I must admit I haven't worn a flared jean for many a year but the fit of these is more of a wide leg-I am thinking of channeling an 'Annie Hall' type look with these. Speaking of which, I've never actually seen that film, but I am thinking of renting it from Blinkbox, which is a new subscription free movie streaming service. Is it as good as I'm hoping? Or should I pick a blockbuster instead? Reviews please!
Finally, I paid a visit to Next during one of their 'one day' sales a couple of weeks ago, which was a bit of a dangerous thing to do as I know how good their collections have been of late. Back in the spring time I was lucky enough to win a £200 voucher to spend with them and I took my mum to my local store and kitted her out, she never spends anything on herself so I treated her to some new things and the products and prices were fantastic. She insisted I had to buy something for myself, so I ended up with a top and trousers, but we managed to get her 3 pairs of jeans, 2 jumpers, and a top for her, so she was really pleased. I actually tried on the leopard top when it was full price, but decided against it, and also really liked the checked top but again, wanted mum to get the benefit of the voucher, so it was really great to be able to find them both for around £15 each. I love leopard print so that's a safe bet and checks are the print *du jour* for AW so I know I will feel on trend wearing them!
Hope you like my picks! What have you bought for AW so far?
XO Amie
