Hidden High Tops, £10, Dorothy Perkins sale
I Instagrammed these hidden high top trainers that I bought from Dorothy Perkins last week and got quite a lot of good feedback on them. I would never say that these were something I would have got on board with; I'm pretty sure I've run them down a couple of times on the blog actually (see here) although I did find this post here where I talked about the Ash versions (possibly the best dupes of the Marant ones.) However I think for a sneaker, the price is totes excessive. I didn't really think this would be a trend I would be wearing but when I saw this pair in the Dorothy Perkins sale, I actually really liked them. They were the only pair left and in my size, and they were marked up at £22 so I thought I'd get them, and when I got to the till they were only £10! even better.
I've worn them once so far with rolled up skinny jeans and a denim shirt, and I think they look really nice. I think they look a lot more expensive than they were and they are a nice way of making a look more casual without it being too much of a sporty look. I can imagine I'll wear these quite frequently over the winter and spring, too!
What do you think of this trend?
I have to add that I love how I stated in the I hate platform trainers post that 28 was way to old to be wearing such a thing, yet now I am 30 and they are on my feet....where's the logic!?!
XO Amie
