Wearing: Whistles coat (charity shop) Dorothy Perkins snood, c/o Damart blouse, Gap jeans, Gap jacket, vintage jewellery, Bally boots (charity shop)
I think I'm wearing my two most expensive ever charity shop buys in these pics. The Whistles coat of dreams was £40 (yes £40!) which would, admittedly, buy me two coats in Primark or half a one in Topshop, but I remember seeing this coat in Whistles a couple of seasons ago and really, really wanting it. I didn't try it on in the shop at the time because the price tag was around the £180 mark and I knew if I did try it, I'd only want it more. So imagine my delight at turning it up in a charity shop, tempered with my annoyance at the price tag-something I think modern day charity shops are really getting behind at the moment. They'd even written 'Whistles' on the label to indicate they realised the level of value it should be! Now, I'll be honest, I absolutely don't begrudge giving to charity, and actually, I still think £40 is a bargain for a coat of this quality and in the condition it is. And it's already paid for itself in terms of cost-per-wear so I'm happy with it!
My boots are by Bally and I bought these in a charity shop for £20, again blowing the chazza budget, however I do think these are impeccably made (and practically brand new) and they are also the perfect fit as they're a half size, which is impossible to find these days. I also didn't have any flat, brown boots until now so they are a useful item to add to my shoe-drobe.
My blouse is from Damart and I love the shape of it, it's collarless and just works really well with a pair of skinny jeans and a little cropped jacket, it's exactly the sort of thing I can see myself getting a lot of wear from and it's also very reasonably priced! It comes in a few other colours too, check it out here!
I haven't hit the charity shops for ages because I always think over Christmas they go a bit quiet but I am definitely going to go out looking for some bargains soon! Do you set yourself a budget when you go charity shopping? What's the most you'd pay for an item?
XO Amie
