Edith Bowman presenting // Seagull on the platform // LEO // New trend: slip on shoes // BAFTA tickets // Anniversary card from Adrian // Royal Opera House // Collection Gel Nails // Lupita Nyong'o
Another weekly roundup c/o my Instagram account! Last week was all about the BAFTA awards, which I was lucky enough to win tickets to! I am always entering random competitions and I never think anything of it, but when I had a phone call last week saying I'd won two tickets to the BAFTA's I couldn't believe it! I barely remembered taking part in the competition but sure enough, Adrian and I went off to London and spent the evening mingling with the stars at the Royal Opera House, followed by a swanky dinner in a beautiful restaurant, all expenses paid! It was a wonderful evening and such a treat to be able to see some incredibly talented actors close up; from Leo DiCaprio who walked right past me, to Lupita Nyong'o who is the rising star seen in the film 12 Years a Slave. I also spotted Martin Scorsese (only after Adrian pointed him out) Tom Hanks, Richard E Grant, Gillian Anderson, Emma Thompson, Amy Adams and Will Poulter. It was such an incredible evening and a real honour to be among all the stars of stage and screen!
It was Adrian and my 5th anniversary on Friday and he made me this lovely card, which I'll have to get a frame for. He has drawn me something every year since we've been together, and I love this illustration of me!
I've also tried a new nail polish this week which I bought to wear to the BAFTAs because I wanted something really classic that would go with anything (I hadn't decided what outfit I wanted to wear) so I chose this lovely nude colour and I am so impressed with it. It's a gel finish colour from Collection, it costs £2.99 and I applied it on Monday (last week) and it hasn't chipped yet! Amazing from a non-gel polish! I just applied two coats and it has lasted so well, it's a lovely colour and looks very elegant. I've also been contemplating taking part in this new 'slip on' shoe trend; I really like this pair from Kurt Geiger and I think they'd look lovely with my leather look skinnies....what do you think?
XO Amie
