Rings £25 each Daniella Draper at Thoroughly British
I am a bit of a Twitter-aholic. Whether it's football commentary, sharing blog posts, or finding new blogs and bloggers to follow, I love looking at this social networking site and I actually often find it a great place to discover new brands and designers that I've not heard of before.
Case in point was Thoroughly British. This online destination deals exclusively in British products by British based, independent designers to ensure the support of the British manufacturing industry as well as providing a platform for more boutique, heritage brands whose presence may be swallowed up on the high street.
I was lucky enough to win a £50 voucher giveaway from the brand on Twitter and I was super excited to spend it! A quick browse of the site ensured I was spoilt for choice, there were some amazing designers and brands available, a few of which I'd had already heard of, such as the fabulous Yull shoes, but most of which were new to me. I was particularly taken with a jewellery designer named Daniella Draper, and clicked through to read a little more about her.
Daniella designs and hand makes bespoke jewellery pieces herself, in a boutique studio in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Revered by the likes of Kate Moss and Natasha Khan, the pieces are edgy, interesting and have an elegant but rustic charm. There were several pieces to choose from, but I decided on these stacking rings, which are very reasonably priced at £25 each. The pieces really are beautiful; elegantly packaged in the designers logoed boxes and heavy, weighty rings hallmarked and stamped with the designers' mark.
Shopping via Thoroughly British put you in direct contact with the designer who then posts the purchase out to you. In this way you can directly communicate with the maker of the products to make any adjustments or changes you'd like; almost like an old fashioned, retail market experience, but online. When I opened the parcel there was a handwritten note from Daniella thanking me for my purchase which was a lovely touch.
Postage is around £8 but most of the items on the site would need to be sent via special delivery so this accounts for the charge. Delivery was very quick and there is so much choice, you could easily shop for gifts for others as well as items for yourself.
Thankyou to Thoroughly British for picking me as the giveaway winner! If you'd like to check out the site in more detail you can click here, and click here to read more about Daniella Draper.
