Charity shop finds: Tods driving shoes and leather backpack
I featured this leather backpack as a charity shop find a few weeks ago but I wanted to snap it again with the most recent acquisition; these beautiful Tods driving shoes. I found these in Weston; I went charity shopping there with my brother and we must have walked around pretty much every single charity shop (there are loads there!) and I found absolutely nothing until I went into the very last one and found a £2.50 sheepskin jacket, an amazing knitted cardigan and these Tods loafers, for just £3.50!
Hardly breaking the bank, and thrilled with my find, I did a Google search out of interest to see that these shoes are the Gommino driving loafers and retailed at around £250! Insane. I think they are just lovely and, despite the fact that they are half a size too big, I hope to wear them a lot. If I still had a car I would totally keep them in the footwell and use them purely as they were intended but I think I can make them work with skinny jeans or peg trews!
I was also thinking they would make a good element in my 'Autumn Essentials' selection which also includes a brolly (definitely essential) and the leather backpack which is a great colour for this time of year and much easier to carry if you are also struggling with an umbrella! As the loafers are patent they will offer a little bit of water resistance; though walking along yesterday I definitely thought it was autumnal enough for boots! I suppose it is almost November!
