Wearing: Coat c/o Vintage Kilo Necklace c/o Wanderlust Life Topshop jumper Whistles jeans Bally brogues Vintage ring
On Saturday I was kindly invited to attend the Vintage Kilo sale at the Paintworks in Bristol. I went with Adrian and it was great; I've got a dedicated post coming up but I couldn't wait to get one of my purchases on the blog in an outfit post, this amazing sheepskin teddy bear style Del Boy/Boycie crazy coat. I spotted this hanging on a rail amongst a shedload of furs and was immediately drawn to it, despite the fact that I have absolutely no need for another coat of any kind, but I have wanted one like this for a long time and so I wasted no time in picking it up. It was so busy at the sale and there was a queue for the mirror, so I slung it on over what I was wearing and asked Adrian's opinion, and he loved it (and said it wasn't too big) so I went for it. I do trust his judgement totally; when I initially picked it out he wasn't too sure but I think it's one of those that looks better on than it does on the hanger. I love the inexplicably short arms, which actually aren't massively too short for my stumpy limbs, and the double layering detail at the top. It is a heavy coat, that's for sure, but it is also incredibly warm and very soft.
I am sure that the rest of my outfit is going to be overlooked by the fact that this coat is a bit of a statement piece; that, and I'm wearing the black Whistles jeans again but I am having a right nightmare trying to find an alternative pair. Both my Gap pairs of black skinnies are looking mega ropey and which ever other pair I buy I end up returning, as the fit it just not quite right. If anyone can suggest any that I can try, it would be much appreciated!
I'm also rockin' this gorgeous necklace from Wanderlust Life. I mentioned this brand in my Valentine wish list post here; well, the lovely Georgie kindly sent me one over to try and again, I've got a dedicated post coming up but I had to mention it here too. I love the super fine cord she uses to sit the precious stone on so it almost looks like it's floating; very clever!
The other item of jewellery is a green vintage ring that I got from my mum and dad for Christmas. I am really loving my vintage things at the moment; if I ever feel a little uninspired, I go back to what I love the best, which is and always has been a bit of vintage and thrifted loveliness. Even so, I need to get my brogues repaired; they are literally coming apart and I had to change them after taking the pictures because the sole was coming off! #bloggerproblems!
