I had thought about not posting a 'valentines' inspired blog post, granted, it is probably a little early but I wanted to share a few definitely Valentine-appropriate pieces that have been sitting on my computer and were too pretty not to post. I don't think you should have to have an excuse to buy yourself a treat now and then, but if a boyfriend or partner is lacking in inspiration, it can be useful to have a wishlist to share! Even if you are a singleton, you can always use the St. Valentine holiday as an excuse to pick yourself up something sweet!

Really, I had wanted an opportunity to talk about these beautiful necklaces, from North Devon based brand Wanderlust Life. Referencing the memories of her own wanderlust, owner and designer Georgie has created a selection of simple, minimal but incredibly chic necklaces crafted from semiprecious stones. Any of the gorgeous designs would be perfect for a Valentines gift, especially as the pink and red toned stones often have a special meaning behind them of love. I've also recently been obsessing over the Alexa Chung collection for Nails Inc. I love the limited topcoats, especially the hearts which are very apt for Valentines day but the red lace one is also pretty and adds a touch of femininity to your manicure. On the subject of makeup, how beautiful is this red lipstick from Anna Sui? A red pout is the perfect way to accessorize your Valentine look, but this beautiful lippy is almost too pretty to use!

If colour on clothes isn't your thing (like mine!) you can always add a flash of bright with a hot-hued accessory. This pink pouch clutch from ASOS is just the thing to brighten a black dress, or go for a more cutesy look with rolled denim and these pink pumps from the site. Perfect!
