Cullottes

For the fourth installment of my McArthur Glen accessory styling challenge, I decided to try out my brogues and watch against one of the styles of the season: the culottes. Culottes are everywhere at the moment and by combining them with another staple piece and a personal favourite of mine, the jumpsuit, means that this is an item that I'll get a lot of wear from!

I bought this jumpsuit on the Monki website quite a while ago and it cost £40, which isn't cheap but I just loved the fit and cut of it. It's also got a button up front and shirt style collar, which makes it smart as well as stylish! I think it also came in a few prints but I of course played it safe with plain black. I have to link to my lovely blogger friend Vix here who recently made a culotte jumpsuit out of some amazing patterned fabric, and who looks incredibly good in it!

Sadly I'm definitely not as talented as Vix so had to buy my version, there are similar ones available here if you like the look of it! It's a very easy piece to wear and I love a bit of slouchy tailoring so this fits the bill just right, especially when the smart shoes and watch are added in! I kept the rest of the look simple with this Whistles jacket that I bought in the sale last summer.
