Wearing: duster coat ASOS tee and trousers c/o Warehouse Hobbs brogues Marc Jacobs watch c/o McArthur Glen
You might remember from this post here that I recently took part in a styling challenge in associaton with McArthur Glen designer outlets and I posted five looks styled using just two accessories. I wanted to talk a little more in depth about each look and what I'd thought about when putting those looks together.
I had saved this duster coat in my wardrobe since buying it from ASOS before Christmas, far too cold to wear then but I loved the simple shape and neutral colour (of course!) so I had to invest. Unfortunately it is now sold out but there's a similar one available here and plenty of other colours on the ASOS website. It's a great style for this time of year and I have been so pleased to pack away my heavy winter coat, especially with the beautiful sunshine of the past few days!
As part of the Bristol Fashion Week preview, I headed up to Cribbs Causeway mall and spent a very enjoyable hour or so putting a couple of looks together courtesy of Warehouse. You might remember my suede skirted 70's safari look (here) but I also picked up these gorgeous navy trousers, which I wanted to wear with the tee I picked for a more slouchy, tailored look. This styling is so me, classic, slightly grannyish and quite effortless (not to say I look effortless, but it's a simple way of dressing!) The trousers are so easy wear and make a nice update to jeans, and you can buy them here. The tee comes in several colours and I'm tempted to get a couple as they are the softest tees ever-buy here.
Of course the brogues and watch were the accessories I had to style and the brogues are the softest, comfiest shoes ever. I also love that they come in another colourway (chocolate brown with a gold toe cap!) and you can buy them here. I found them quite simple to style because they go with most colours I wear and also it's a style of shoe I wear quite regularly, definitely worth investing in something like this if it's a style you reach for frequently. I probably wouldn't spend out on a pair of stilettos, as I know I wouldn't get the wear from them, but a brogue is my go-to flat transitional shoe so these were a definite winner!
This was the first look I styled from the five I had to come up with and I think this is probably my favourite. I think it's also probably the most pared back but it's very much my own style and I love it.
