Wearing: Topshop Boutique trousers H&M jumper vintage Celine shoes vintage LV bag
On Thursday of last week it was my birthday and I spent the day with Adrian which was lovely. We went to a beautiful Tudor lodge building which has been preserved and turned into a museum, followed by lunch and then back home to watch a film in the afternoon. Adrian had organised a surprise party for the evening with some of our closest friends and it was such a lovely way to end the day. I felt very spoilt!
I'd bought these silk trousers a couple of weeks ago in the Topshop sale. I love the Topshop Boutique range but it can be on the expensive side, and these trousers retailed at £90. Luckily, they were in the sale at £30 so I picked them up and I love them. The cropped flare is set to be the 'must have' shape of the season and these are nicely high waisted and so actually look like they are supposed to; I'm not very tall so often this trend can end up looking a bit like I am just wearing short trousers!
I wanted to wear these trousers on my birthday because they are very much a jazzy trouser and when is there any better time to wear a cool pair of trews than on your birthday! I think I could also get away with these for work too, with a smart shoe and maybe a blouse tucked in. The fit and style is just great!
To balance the printed element of the look I paired the trousers with a plain top; I hadn't wanted to wear a jumper but unfortch the weather was not very pleasant and it was definitely chillier than I had hoped. I really like the simple style of this H&M one which I bought last week, I had something to return to the store and typically ended up paying more towards the cost of something new!
All of my accessories are vintage, from the Celine shoes to LV bag, both of which were spoils from the chazza. I really like this bag which is a great size for everyday use, and can't be overfilled as it is quite narrow, making it really useful for the essentials.
XO Amie
