Wearing: ASOS coat & trousers Selected Femme tee Whistles loafers Chanel bag
The humble tee shirt gets a bit of a rough deal if you ask me. One of the most brilliant of basics, ruined for a lot of people by cheap as chips versions that do that incredibly annoying 'seam twist' after the first wash. Now, because it's such a basic, to pay good money for it seems a little irritating but if you choose wisely, a great basic tee can provide multiple outfit options. The perfect foil to a smart pair of trousers, I like to wear mine with jeans on casual days or with an ankle length smart trouser to make them work appropriate.
I bought a couple of pairs of the aforementioned smart trews recently from ASOS. I picked up a classic black pair and also a burgundy pair as I had a bit of a clear out of my smart trouser selection and donated a load to the charity shop that I no longer really wore. I replaced them with this pair in black and this pair in burgundy, both from the premium range and absolute bargains in the sale too!
Talking about basic tees, I have bought from Selected Femme, Cheap Monday and Weekday; all brands that aren't super cheap but having worn and washed tops from there I can attest that they come out looking as good as new; no bobbling or twisty seams!
My duster coat from ASOS has been getting its wear lately too; chillier mornings soon burn off into sunny afternoons and a lightweight coat helps with trans-seasonal dressing without being too heavy. A leopard print colourway is great for adding another element to your look and if you wear a lot of neutral colours, as I do, it can really help to add a splash of print.
