With the changing of the season, I always like to reassess my footwear selection for the coming months and see if there are any styles I'm lacking. I am always drawn towards ankle boots, they seem to be the most useful choice for me as I don't feel I'm tall enough to wear a knee boot, and it's getting towards the time of year where a  faithful ballet pump or loafer is just too cold to wear!

I don't mind spending a little bit more on a good pair of ankle boots as they are a staple that you will wear throughout the season. I've been a fan of the brand H by Hudson for several years now; I bought a pair of their brogues years ago and wore them for an entire summer! I don't own a pair of their ankle boots, but I would like to; the quality and workmanship that goes into making them is exceptional and not only that, they are also extremely wearable; the heels are the perfect height for day and the darker colours make them very versatile workhorses within the wardrobe.

I have selected pairs in different materials but all would work for day to day; the suede pair are slightly higer so would look great to add a bit of edge to a dress for day. The lower heeled pair are leather and would look amazing with a pair of skinnies, and the patent pair are a little more trend led but would look great with socks and culottes!

Of course I had to also include a pair of brogues; one of my most favoured styles of flat shoe is always great to pair with a cigarette trouser or a dress or skirt and tights when the weather is a little chillier. This pair are designed in patent leather again to reference an AW15 trend, but are slightly more minimal with the two eyelet lace up detail.

Created in London in 1990, H by Hudson has a wealth of expertise and style behind their shoemaking. Investing in a pair of Hudsons is just that-an investment-that will give you many years of style and comfort. I would like them all!
