Top beauty picks of 2015
Happy New Year! I've discovered a few amazing beauty products in 2015 and I wanted to share a few of my favourites here on the blog; items that I will be re-buying as the year goes on, and that I bought multiples of in 2015! There was no one cosmetic item that I really rated this year; I still maintain that the Collection felt tip eyeliner at £2.99 is the biggest and best makeup buy ever (and my desert island must have) but there have been a few skincare items that I've really enjoyed using.
Micellar water: I have really moved away from the traditional makeup removal of creams or gels and certainly also wipes, and found that a Micellar water is much gentler, kinder and more effective at cleaning my skin. I have used a few different types but have re-bought and re-bought this Garnier one which is low in price, high in longevity (it claims to last through 200 uses!) and, simply, very easy to use, sweeping away even waterproof mascara with ease.
Oils: 2015 has certainly been the year of the oil as a bathroom cabinet essential for me. Not only does it make an incredible moisturiser, you can also use it on your face, hair and nails; a multi use, multipurpose product that I've turned to time and time again. I think my favourite this year has been the Elemis Frangipani oil but since it's very expensive, I've also loved this much more affordable Body Shop version.
Perfume: Since being introduced to Lush fragrances by a friend, I have really found 'my' signature scent in this Karma fragrance which is perfect for winter. It's quite heady and also slightly hippyish, with hints or orange oil and patchouli, but I have never received as many compliments when wearing a fragrance as I do with this. It's also very long lasting and you can smell it on the skin even at the end of the day, which I love.
Hand cream: My dry, chapped hands love a decent hand cream and The Body Shop never fails to deliver. I actually prefer the Hemp version of the cream over this Rose one, but I'd run out of the hemp so included this in it's place. I usually always have a tube in my handbag as it's non greasy, very moisturising and really works to soothe my hands.
What have been your hero beauty products of 2015?
XO Amie
