Wearing: Topshop leopard print coat (similar here) vintage blouse (similar here) Topshop binx jeans (here)
I have been trying to bring a little more fun into my wardrobe and a good way to do this is to play with texture, print and pattern in everyday looks. Even though I don't wear much colour, its nice to wear something other than neutrals, and it doesn't have to be too scary especially if you keep within a more neutral palette.
A good place to start is to pick prints and patterns within a similar colour palette. I love leopard print; I really treat this as another neutral! I decided to pair this with a floral blouse in similar brown tones to the coat, and my red nail polish picks out the red in the flowers, although this was by chance!
I used denim as a base for the printed pieces as I didn't want it to be too overpowering. I am not very tall and so I find if I don't break the print up in certain ways, it can just be too much! I would use playful, solid colour accessories with this look-perhaps my Finery snakeskin boots and Hermes constance bag to reflect the colour palette in the look but to avoid introducing any more print elements.
This look also combines high street and vintage items; my favourite way to dress!
