Wearing: Topshop leopard print coat (similar here and here) Whistles trousers (similar here) Topshop Boutique jumper (similar here) Finery tee shirt (here) and boots (here)
One thing I've found with a capsule wardrobe is that I have 'work clothes' and 'weekend clothes' and it's not often the work wardrobe is featured on the blog, because I like to wear my 'weekend' clothes for most of my outfit posts! There are a couple of pieces that do transition, like my jumpsuits and also this pair of Whistles slim trousers. I absolutely love these trousers, I've worn them so much and have had to repair them twice as the hems have come down, but they are just the loveliest fit and they can look smart or casual, depending on how I wear them.
Referencing my last outfit post, this is a different way to wear boots, a smarter way I suppose, and even though I don't usually tuck my trousers into boots, this Finery pair lend themselves to that look really nicely. I think because they are cut slightly higher on the leg, the trousers don't come untucked which is always really annoying!
I paired these trousers with a navy jumper because navy and black, especially with an accent of brown is one of my favourite colour combinations. I added my leopard coat (again) because it lifts the look and stops it appearing too sombre. I have really loved wearing boots this winter and it's going to be wierd to go back into shoes and sandals but I am definitely ready for some sunshine now; the last few days have been really bright and lovely and I hope there's more to come!
