Hazy summer days still seem a way off, but it's lovely to be able to wear a jacket with a short sleeved top underneath, and forgo a jumper or sweatshirt. I have been reaching for this faux leather jacket that I bought just after Christmas and for this time of year, it's perfect. The only annoying thing about it is that the little straps on the side have a habit of undoing themselves which is irritating!
I have found that since taking part in the capsule wardrobe challenge I wear a lot of my vintage clothes a lot more frequently. I think by not buying cheaply I have begun to value more the lovely things I already own, and it really does help me to switch my mindset away from relentless consumerism. I do love fashion, though, so a lot about wanting to buy things stems from that creative side of fashion, putting looks together, styling and the visual side of it. But I try to buy more ethically, now, where I can.
All of the vintage items I am wearing in this look came from a charity shop at some point; I can't seem to pass a charity shop without looking inside but I do try and make sure that I buy to my aesthetic rather than because something is 'vintage' as I'd rather leave something that's not quite my style for someone else to enjoy.
XO Amie
