The athleisure trend shows no signs of going away, and as autumn sets in, a pair of trainers are the perfect piece of transitional footwear to assist you out of pumps or sandals. Lighter than a boot but providing more coverage than a ballet pump, they are no longer confined to the realms of the gym, either, with trainers often taking on a far more fashionable feel.
Brantano have an excellent selection of womens shoes on their site and a large percentage of those are of the athleisure option. Brands like Skechers, Reebok, Adidas and Nike are represented, and of these, there are many that cater for the more fashion-forward footwear lover.
Skechers are a brand that aren't as well known in the UK as the US, but all that is beginning to change. I actually have a pair of Skechers that I run in, and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - the footbed is memory foam so your feet sink into them as you move and they provide comfort and support as you run. I have to say I even prefer them to my beloved Nikes! They are priced mid-range but for a decent pair of running shoes, I would say they are a good investment.
Colour and print is a big story on footwear this season, and not just limited to the catwalks, either, as trainer brands have jumped on the bandwagon. These high-shine metallic lace ups by Skechers are a real high fashion statement with their gleaming pewter uppers; promising to bring a touch of glam to even thr most dressed down looks. Likewise, the bright, intricate patterns of the aztec print pair and the popping colours of the Nike and Reebok styles will easily find their way into your day to day looks, as well as your workout wardrobes.
