Wearing: Coat, ears and choker all c/o New Look, Topshop Boutique jumpsuit, Whistles loafers
I must admit I don't often 'do' fancy dress, and whilst that may seem a little boring, it's actually more to do with not wanting to spend a lot of money on things I'm never going to wear again. I was recently contacted by New Look who threw down a challenge - put together a Halloween - worthy look using items you could feasibly re-wear again, after the day is over. Challenge accepted!
A quick browse of the NL website and I found a dedicated section of Halloween - worthy pieces. From velvet to leather, faux-fur to lace, there's something to fulfil every Halloween fancy. Not only that, but in case you were on the fence about your costume, there's also a handy video that you can watch to stoke up some Halloween inspo. Simply pick your favourite look, or the one that is closest in keeping with your own style, and get haunting! The New Look blog is chock full of fantastic Halloween ideas.
I love faux fur, so this brown faux fur coat was the perfect starting point. It's a worthwhile investment at £54.99, having also recently graced the pages of Elle magazine, and I wore it in the 'fashion' way, shoulder-robing it over a plain black jumpsuit (cat-suit!?) New Look have lots of jumpsuits in stock, and a plain black one is a perfectly versatile piece to add to your wardrobe. Dress it down with loafers or up with heels, it's a must have for AW16.
New Look have an awesome range of accessories in stock and it's little touches like these that can really transform a look. Now, I don't know about you, but pearl cat ears wouldn't normally be my daily choice of headgear, but you have to embrace a costume literally now and then! It's great to be able to add in accessories that you can switch out if you need to. Perfect for work; take them off for the important meeting, put them back on for a spooky tea break! Much easier than faffing about with kohl whiskers and a cat nose, less effort and easier to get right! Chokers are also a huge trend for the season ahead and this velvet bell adorned style makes for the perfect cat collar. Still totally wearable after Halloween, channel a little gothic grunge by wearing it with lace and leather for a showstopping party look.
I love this super lazy, but undeniable effective, last minute Halloween look! What will you be dressing up as this Halloween?
XO Amie
