September empties: Molton Brown festive hand wash (here) Palmers coconut oil hand cream (here) Dr Hauschka lip care stick (here) Valeur Absolue Confiance (here) Nivea soft cream (here)
A rather eclectic bunch of empties for September, and it does feel like I've only just posted an 'empties' roundup but I've got a few fab products here to chat about. I have to start off with a product that I had fairly low expectations of; the Nivea soft cream. I actually got this in a gift set at Christmas and when I found it in the back of the bathroom cabinet, and I needed a new moisturiser, I thought I'd give it a go, having heard rave reviews from other bloggers. This product is incredible; it made my skin, which at the time of using, was really dry, tight and flaky, smooth, supple and hydrated. My skin looked and felt the best it has in years, and I have been using all sorts of high end skincare to achieve that level and never reached it. Nivea soft is £2.99. The pot lasts forever as you don't need very much, and the lightweight formula is non-greasy and doesn't clog pores. I will be buying another pot, stat!
A couple of other items have also been winners this month; the festive Molton Brown hand wash is an odd one but again, turned out of the cupboard when looking for something else and I have been using it to wash my beauty blenders. The smell is incredible and it gets the sponges nice and clean, leaving them with a delicious autumnal scent the next time I use them.
I normally feature a hand cream in my empties posts and this time is no exception. I loved the scent of this Palmers coconut oil hand cream - is coconut oil still the beauty buzzword? I definitely felt it made my hands softer but it was a bit of a pain to absorb and did leave my hands a bit oily afterwards, which isn't ideal. I probably wouldn't buy this one again but I didn't hate it! Likewise this Dr. Hauschka lip care stick; a lovely product and I can't fault it, but I don't feel it did any better than my favourite £3 pot of Carex!
Finally, a fragrance that I've managed to finish! I got this Valeur Absolue Confiance perfume back in June, and used it off and on; I liked it, but I had others I preferred. I also got the Harmonie scent too, but ended up giving that to my mum as I felt it suited her better. I quite liked the scent but it was perhaps a bit light for me; I didn't love it, and buying online always throws up this danger with perfume as you can only really go by the description. I did persevere with it and I have managed to finish it but I wouldn't buy this again.
XO Amie
