Leggings, jacket and top by Ivy Park at Topshop, Skechers trainers from Brantano
It wasn't until recently that I started investing in workout clothing. I am really enjoying running and average between 7 - 10k per week and up until recently, this was in a pair of tatty leggings and a novelty t shirt. I didn't think that having decent gear would make any difference to my ability, and maybe it is only psychological but there's something nice about having smart, fit for purpose clothing to wear when working out. The best thing about proper running leggings: there's a pocket for my keys!
I have picked up a few pieces in the Topshop sale, I'd never really paid any attention to the Ivy Park range before but I managed to get a few sale bargains and the new season collection looks great, too; I like these ombre leggings. The camouflage jacket is just £15 in the sale - I picked one up to wear when I have to run in the rain as it's showerproof, but super lightweight (qualities my vintage mickey mouse sweater doesn't have!)
I have a pair of Skechers trainers that I wear to run in and they are perhaps the most comfortable trainers I have ever tried. They have a memory foam insole which feels as if you are running on clouds, and the air cooled technology stops my feet getting too hot. I really like the idea of this pair of women's trainers from Brantano, which offer a lightweight mesh upper and Goga mat technology as well as GO pillars in the outsole and a memory foam padded heel. The uppers are lightweight mesh - ideal for the hotter months.
