Kiehl's at John Lewis Beauty Hall
Last Thursday, I was lucky enough to be invited to a beauty event up at John Lewis at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. Taking place in the sumptuous setting of the John Lewis Espresso Bar, Hannah, Kiehl's on Wheels Business Manager, and colleagues Matthew and Hannah took a group of us through some of Kiehl's bestselling products, accompanied of course by glasses of prosecco and cakes! As the evening went on, we were quizzed on what we'd learnt and could win some amazing Kiehl's treats - I won a lipbalm!
A few of the things I learnt - Kiehl's was founded in 1851 in New York (3rd Avenue) and still sells from their very first pharmacy today - the actual apothecary is now a museum dedicated to the origins if the brand. I'd love to visit! The brand was the first cosmetic company to create a range of skincare specifically for men, back in the 1960s, and they also make a range of products that are suitable for use on animals - including doggy shampoos and conditioners.
We were able to try out a whole range of different products including a Calendula cleanser which contains real marigold petals, and a tumeric mask which left the back of my hand feeling like silk. We were also able to test out the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, a luxe overnight oil treatment which is the brands best seller. I have tried a sample of this before and loved it, so was thrilled to see a vial in my goody bag, which will last for ages as you only need a couple of drops.
Also in the goody bag was a huge range of samples and testers which I can't wait to try out; the brand prides itself on the use of natural ingredients such as lavender, vitamin C and calendula and doesn't use artificial silicones and parabens so they are better for your skin, too. Thank you, Kiehl's, for the invite to this wonderful event.
