I've been a bit of a convert to using oil on my skin in the past few years. When I first heard about facial oils, I was a bit sceptical - surely they would just make my face feel horrible and break me out? Turns out, the exact opposite is true; they helped to balance my skin and left it incredibly soft and smooth. A particular favourite is the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery oil which is simply amazing and leaves my skin feeling incredibly moisturised; and only the tiniest amount is needed.
Oils isn't just great for the face, either. One of my favourite body products is an oil by Monoi - it was a frangipani body oil which was super quickly absorbed and left my skin smelling amazing. I also adore the Nuxe skin oil which has a shimmery gold finish - perfect for this time of year, to use on arms, legs and decollete.
Of course the use of oil on hair is not a new phenomenon. Argan oil has been a buzzword for a few years now and since my hair is super long and thick, anything to help keep it healthy and breakage from brushing to a minimum is welcomed, so I make sure to incorporate a hair oil into my hair care routine. It's using this blend of various healthy oils within my beauty routine that I find helps keep my skin and hair looking its best.
I also take my makeup off with oil. I am loving the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil, which melts away my makeup without the need for scrubbing and is less astringent than Micellar water (I always find they make my eyes sting!) it also doubles up as a great product for cleaning my beauty blenders with; much more effective than soap or washing up liquid!
