Makeup c/o CYO Cosmetics
My makeup bag has been boosted recently with these new bits and pieces from CYO Cosmetics. This new brand, available at Boots, promises insanely versatile makeup that gives you the freedom to create and the products can be mixed and layered to create a look that's all your own.
I thought I'd do a first impressions of the products that I've tried, as I've not really used them long enough to give a full review. Starting with base, the Matte & Blur Primer (£5) is lovely. I have just finished up my Body Shop primer so this is the perfect replacement; it's not as heavy and provides a perfect base for foundation. On that topic, I have been mixing my favourite BB cream with the Illuminating Mixing Cream (£6) which provides a subtle sheen to my base. Finishing off my base with a bit of concealer, and the High Coverage Concealer (£5) is super thick and creamy, perfect for covering under eye circles. To add a bit of definition, the Cool as a Coconut bronzing stick (£5.50) makes shaping the cheek bones easy and it blends out seamlessly with a beauty blender.
Moving on to eyes - how beautiful are these Crush on Metal shadows (£4.50) which are hyper pigmented and provide an easy way to a stunning eye look. The multidimensional tones bring out the eyes and make it look as if you've made an extra special effort (even if you haven't!) I finish the eye look with a swipe of Setting Our Sights kohl gel eyeliner, (£3.50) as an alternative to liquid liner, and tame my brows with the Frame of Mind brow sculpting pencil (£4). Finally, my handbag must-have is the 'Take the Threeway' shadow, liner and mascara in one handy pen!
Finishing with lips, these Two Clever by Half lipliner and lipstick combo pens (£5.50) are brilliant. In the shades Rainmaker (a pinky nude) and Big Idea (a punchy red) they can also be used as blushers - simply dab on the cheeks, blend and go!
Finally, set the whole look with the Set to Last fixing spray (£5) which keeps the look in place all day. Shop the full range at Boots.
